WHAT TO WATCH IN LOCKDOWN 3.0

Anyone else ending their working week in their dressing gown, glass of Baileys in hand, sinking a leftover Christmas tub of Cheeselets, or is that just me…?

It’s been the loooongest week but we’ve made it to Friday friends. Given the news that those of us in the UK are stuck in Lockdown 3.0 for the next few weeks, I decided to switch up my post for today and share what I’ve been watching as let’s face it, we’ve got a spare couple of hours (or days) on our hands to binge watch a bit of TV.

I’ve done my best to get through some of the latest (It wasn’t a chore, trust me) but reached out to the nearest and dearest for thoughts on those that I haven’t managed to get through yet.

Here’s what you should be watching in Lockdown 3.0:

Bridgerton

Lets start with the obvious, shall we? Produced by the same people that made Grey’s Anatomy, its no surprise that I looooved this. Dreamy characters, stunning costumes, steamy love scenes, fabulous set – it’s worthy of a proper binge watch. Based on the books by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton tells the story of love and trying to find it in the Regency era of London’s high society. It’s gripping, heart-breaking and hilarious and the music is fab too. Even if you’re not sure, just give it a go and see it through. I don’t think you’ll regret it. Honestly, I’d watch it again. Am I selling it enough?

Cobra Kai

Season 3 is out and we finished it in 2 days! A very easy binge watch and one that even if Karate and the classic Karate Kid films were not your thing, I would still preach. It tells the story of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso, 34 years after their infamous All Valley Karate Tournament. It comes with drama, juicy cliff-hangers, humour, fab characters and also teaches a few lessons about redemption, resilience, love and hope. I just bloody loved it.

The Queen’s Gambit

This one is on my list and not one that I’ve watched but one that I’ve been nagged about a lot. It’s apparently addictive in it’s own right and tells the story of orphaned chess prodigy Beth Harmon who struggles with addiction in a quest to become the greatest chess player in the world. I’m told not to judge a book by it’s cover with this one as it’s completely binge worthy. I’ll definitely be giving it a go.

Emily in Paris

If you haven’t seen this one yet, it’s perfect for a feel good series. Lily Colins plays an American that moves to Paris to work for her marketing agency’s French office. It’s the ultimate chick flick, featuring foreign flings, funny blunders and tears as the reality of being alone in a new country sets in. Given we won’t be travelling anytime soon, it’s the perfffff escape after a shit day. Loved it.

Holidate

Strictly speaking, this film was released over Christmas but it’s not juuuuust a Christmas film, I promise. Fed up of being single on all of the special holidays throughout the year, Emily Roberts joins forces with the not-so-bad-to-look-at Luke Bracey and agrees to be each other’s platonic plus-ones. It’s feel good and hilarious which is everything we want right now so I’ll be watching it on repeat for the next 6 weeks, one hundred perfect.

***

To avoid being here all night, those are my top five must-watch things on Netflix right now. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve recently watched alooooot of fab contenders and had a few great recommendations to so here goes it:
